PostSubject: Foals of Whisperin' Pines Manor   Fri Aug 10, 2012 5:07 pm

This is going to be my last big foaling season. After this, I am limiting myself to three foals a year. Quality not quantity. Smile
But this season I have six due. I tried eight mares, one I decided to breed later and another I have decided is infertile as I have bred her maybe close to two dozen times now with no success.

But anyway, five mares are bred to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
They are:

And the last is a repeat cross. The last was affected and inherited two genes I don't want, but I liked the result, so I am trying again.

I am most nervous about Spectrum and Dorothy's babies. Hop they are colors I want!

The first Sesame foal is here! Out of LS One Hundred Percent:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

She is gorgeous! But I personally don't want palominos... I will be keeping her til 2 years of age, then I will decide if I am going to keep her.

Maybe you will like this one too then: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I was really looking forward to that cross, but his temperament does not impress me, and I don't want the creme... He will be for sale but if he shapes up nicely I will try the cross again.

I absolutely LOVE this colt: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

He is perfect in coloring!

And then Dorothy foaled: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Grey Tobiano. An acceptable coloring, but I really don't want greys! I think this mare has given me a grey every time. Plus he is affected! Same as last time! Mad

Last two foals have arrived!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Not happy with this one at all. She was the last foal I will be breeding from Spectrum too. She is for sale with her dam already.

But the last:

I am very happy with! Love his color and temperament. Will be keeping him.

So for this season, I really only got 2 for sure keepers. I may decide to keep the palomino roan filly but I am not sure yet.

If you decide not to keep that palomino roan let me know, I might be interested in her Smile

I can't believe it's almost foaling time again!

I controlled myself this year and just bred three mares:

1. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] x [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
So far, every foal this mare has given me has been grey, and most of them also inherited creme. I really don't want either. Two of the foals were also affected. I made the mistake of breeding her to another carrier. I always forget to check Embarassed . I am really hoping for no grey, and no creme!

2. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] x [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This is the foal I am most looking forward to. There is a chance it will be white, so I am hoping against this! I really really want a dark flaxen chestnut with sabino1!

3. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] x [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This is my gorgeous boy [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] dam. I am really hoping she just passes along sa1 this time though. Artissimo has foals on other ranches, but this will be his first on mine. It would be cool if they both passed along sa1! And hopefully no grey. Please, no grey.

Darkness foaled!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Drat drat drat! It's a white filly. Sad Though she is gorgeous I don't want white in my herd since it can be cryptic and tricky.

Owl is bagging up though!

Sorry Shannon and Hayden, I think the filly fairy got lost on the way and visited my farm! I just had the second of three born, another filly!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I must say I have never seen this sabino pattern. Or is it overo and she is hiding something? I'm not sure. But darn it, she is grey so I don't want to keep her. That temperament caught me off guard too, but it seems a lot of her dam's foals have nasty temperaments. I doubt anyone here will be interested in her, so she will be in the sales at her dam's side.

Only one foal left! Crossing my fingers for a keeper! Exclamation

Her dam is tovero, looks like she got splash from her sire, so your filly is probably sabino and splash, making her overo. Pretty girl, but that temp is too low for me.

She is really pretty. Temperaments are killing me too, all my COLTS silent have been Good this year, I'm hoping the filly fairy will come visit me and drop off a few filly's with Good temperament otherwise I'm going to be waiting around last years fillys to mature and see if I can breed the temperament up Shocked

I believe so. :/ I can't tell from any of her previous offspring that she does have splash, but it looks to be this was. Oh well, they already sold.

Wow, how did they sell so fast? Mine won't sell for anything and I have been pricing really low, but only selling on approval. But no one has even offered except one new player that already had like 12 horses and another that I just didn't think looked like a good home.

It was probably the LS mare. They sell ridiculously fast, and since she was aged I put her and the foal up for 5,000.

Dorothy finally foaled!!!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

And she couldn't have given me a more perfect filly! Jet black, good temperament... wow. I'm in love! Dorothy's six foal and finally a keeper! Dorothy will be for sale after this baby is weaned if anyone is interested.

3 More DHH foalies due in a few days!

1. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] x [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
50/50 chance of flaxen here! Really hoping for flaxen.

2. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] x [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This one will be flaxen for sure. I am kind of hoping, if both these babies are flaxen, then one is a colt. I could use a blonde stud.

3. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] x [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I'd be pleased if the baby were rabicano Smile

A lovely sorrel sabino. I really hoped for flaxen, but I think I will be keeping this handsome guy. I still have some Bram straws left sunny
